Jean Monnet Programme and Aurora

Within the framework of the projects, promoted by Jean Monnet Programme and Aurora, The Summer School in European Environmental Taxation (SUSEET) was held at the Law Department of the Federico II University of Naples this September.

About 20 international students and PhD students took part in it and enjoyed the week-long programme, which consisted of lessons in English and cultural tours. Economic and law students and PhD students fitted perfectly in the international atmosphere that characterized SUSEET, exploiting the opportunity to discuss current issues with distinguished Italian and European professors and researchers, to enrich their skills, to take the role of a student of one of the oldest Universities in Europe.

Interesting lessons and challenging activities, in particular a simulation of trial before the European Court of Justice, took place under the guidance of the competent and friendly SUSEET staff and professors. Moreover the whole experience was set in the fascinating context of Naples, indeed students had some free time to get in touch with each other and to visit famous spots of the city, and to taste the typical Italian and Neapolitan dishes all together. Remarkable was also the tour at the University archeological museum, the tour at the ancient University library and at the University gardens, with a special view of the city.

The last day of the SUSEET week was held in the amazing city of Paestum, where the whole group enjoyed the final session of the week; at the end of it, as all the previous ones, students’ questions were all well accommodated. In the afternoon the whole group enjoyed a tour at the Paestum ruins, known all over the world for the majesty of the temples and for the indelible trace of Greco-Roman history.

Therefore it was an incredible week for all the participants, who came back home with specialized economic and legal knowledge, with an unforgettable experience for their curriculum and with some new international friends.

A big thank goes to Jean Monnet Programme, Erasmus + and Aurora to let all the SUSEET participants enjoy an inspiring and memorable experience.
